DiffMergy ("we", "our", or "us") operates the diffmergy.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.

The short version: DiffMergy is designed to be privacy-first. All code processing happens entirely in your browser. We do not store, transmit, or have access to any code or data you enter into our tools.

Client-Side Processing

All operations in DiffMergy — including code comparison, diffing, merging, formatting, security scanning, encoding, hashing, and all other tools — execute entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and Web APIs. No source code, data, or content you enter is ever transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.

No Code Storage

When you save a session in DiffMergy, it is stored in your browser's IndexedDB (local device storage) only. This data never leaves your device and is automatically deleted when you clear your browser data. We have no access to your saved sessions.

No Account Required

DiffMergy does not require registration, login, or any form of account creation. You can use all features anonymously.

Analytics (Optional)

If Google Analytics is enabled, we may collect anonymous usage data including page views, session duration, browser type, and general geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not include any code content. You can opt out by using a browser ad-blocker or disabling JavaScript.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically record IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and request timestamps in server access logs for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify individual users.

DiffMergy does not set any cookies for its core functionality. If Google Analytics is enabled, it may use first-party cookies for anonymous analytics. No third-party advertising cookies are set by DiffMergy itself.

DiffMergy is deployed on Cloudflare Pages, which provides content delivery and security. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to their infrastructure handling.

If enabled, Google Analytics processes anonymous usage data. Google's privacy policy governs their data handling.

We do not integrate with any other third-party services that would have access to your data.

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• HTTPS encryption for all connections
• Security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options)
• No server-side data storage eliminates data breach risk
• Regular security audits of client-side code

DiffMergy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our tools are designed for software developers and technical professionals.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of DiffMergy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
